Starboard House is a registered residential home providing support to 7 individuals with mild to moderate learning disabilities, including Autism and Downs’s syndrome.
All individuals living in the service enjoy a wide range of activities i.e. bowling, cinema and pub meals, individuals ages range from 55 to 86. They enjoy a takeaway at the weekends and a game of in-house bingo.
All individuals have input into the running of the home whether it be décor of the service and improvements they would like to see.
Starboard House is a very individual personalised service.
Some individuals living in the service like gardening in the summer with support, we had a sunflower competition recently with seeds named to see who’s became the tallest!
An NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Social Health and Care (or working towards one) is preferred but not essential as training will be given. However, a positive outlook, enabling attitude and aptitude for engaging with and supporting people to make choices about their unique lifestyles and lead independent lives is essential.
