Chertsey Road is a residential service supporting people with learning disabilities and associated health needs in the Twickenham area.
Chertsey Road is currently an all female service and has recently been completely refurbished to a high standard.
Individuals are supported by an established staff team who listen to the views and experiences of the people who live at Chertsey Road to enable them to develop and provide quality care and support in the way people wish to be supported and in accordance of support choices that are available to them.

- Person Centred Approach to every day life, decision making and choice
- Outcome based support, which is specifically designed around the person, their wants, wishes, goals and aspirations
- Individual planning and tailor made support packages which enable people to communicate in the way that meets their communication needs
- We offer staff that are trained in total communication methods and can support people to make decisions and choices through their chosen methods
- Positive risk taking – ensuring people can make decisions which keep them safe and happy
- The individuals that live at Chertsey Road also participate in our QA checker programme, are involved in day to day decision making about their home and attend local forums.
- Individuals attend local day opportunity services and meet with friends and families
- We also offer the opportunity for people to be involved in our service user based awareness training which includes awareness on speaking up, saying no to abuse and how to make a complaint
- People are actively promoted to take part in the recruitment of staff, telling us what qualities they would like their staff to have, ask candidates questions about how they would support them and we actively encourage involvement from the circle of support in our service delivery
Individuals are supported and encouraged to participate in a large range of educational, social and recreational activities in line with their individual interests and needs. These may be pursued within the local community and the home.
It is recognised that the development of social skills will increase the individual’s ability to make and sustain meaningful relationships.

Chertsey Road is a large 5 bedroom 1920’s detached house situated on the A316. It compromises of a spacious lounge, kitchen, dining room, bathroom and one bedroom on the ground floor. A further 4 bedrooms and bathroom are situated on the first floor. Chertsey Road benefits from a large mature garden which has its own vegetable patch, this is maintained by the people who live their. It is within walking distance of local amenities and has easy access to public transport.
