Accommodation for 6 individual’s in a Supported Living service in Camberley, North West Surrey. The service is a transition service that is staffed 24 hours a day and specialises in supporting younger adults with daily living skills and emotional support, developing individuals to move on to more independent living.
Specialist Expertise
This service specialises in supporting people who have come from residential settings and enables the individuals to have a smooth transition from residential to supported living. We ensure enablement and inclusion at all times for those people we support. By doing so, we are enabling individuals to have new experiences, they are supported to make lifestyle changes based on their choices and decision which previously others have made for them.
Staff actively support and encourage individuals to attend college, find employment both paid and voluntary and participate in the local community.
Our Services Offered
- Person centred planning, review and awareness
- Confidence and encouragement to make decisions, rights and responsibilities and promotion of access to local advocacy
- Budgeting skills and weekly planning
- Daily living skills, including meal preparation, cooking and domestic skills
- Assistance with personal care and encouragement to becoming more independent with self care
- Choice and support to attend college/events/activities
- Awareness of health promotion, health related conditions and specialist support to access professionals
- Actively participate in community events through one to one sessions and planned events with other tenants
- Individuals are involved in the recruitment and selection of the staff that support them.
- Involvement in our quality checkers project
- Medication self assessment programme – from understanding why a person takes medication right through to training and assessment to self medication
- Road safety awareness and support programmes to enable greater independence in the community (with planned risk management)
- Support to participate in weekly health and safety, fire and first aid checks, as well as nightly security checks and keeping safe awareness
- Participation in training and awareness workshops in relation to keeping safe, saying no to abuse, speaking out and recruitment
About the Property
The property is an attractive and spacious 1950's semi detached property with a private rear garden. It is within walking distance of the town centre and there is easy access to local colleges and transport. The accommodation is separated in to 2 self contained flats with an adjoining door; they compromise of 3 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and separate toilet. Individuals who live at the service are encouraged to personalise their rooms and decorate them how they would like.
A one bed roomed flat has recently been built onto the main house to enable the young people currently living at at the service to make the transition to move to more independent living.
