Easter Cottage provides care and support for 3 children of either gender aged 11-18, with Learning Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Behavioural Disorders or complex health needs. As well as an inbuilt and fully equipped sensory room Easter cottage is equipped with an Aqua Nova, Pisces rising bath for those with physical disabilities.

The garden provides a large grassed play area, a trampoline with safety enclosure and a sensory garden.

Easter Cottage is wheelchair accessible and physically disabled friendly throughout.

 

Specialist Expertise

 

Easter Cottage offers young people access to speech and language therapies.

Staff are trained in managing complex  health needs including Epilepsy and Enteral (PEG) feeding

In the home we have a fully equipped and complete soft play sensory room that allows the exploration of light, sound and textures as well as an environment to relax in and calm.

 

Education

 

All of our young people have access to the Regard for Learning Education Centre – our OFSTED registered school.  Experienced teaching staff provides personal educational programmes in line with the National Curriculum.  Students engage in a wide range of activities including ICT, horse riding, art, music, drama and opportune engineering.  Those over 16 can attend local colleges and work experience.

 

Services Offered

 

Full needs and risk assessments completed by trained and experienced staff in liaison with the individual and anyone else they wish to be involved such as family, friend, or advocate.

 

Provision of an individually designed support package to include assistance in activities to develop and maintain independence.

 

Support to service users with a range of activities including:

 

Budget planning and support with finances (Regard can become appointee if required)
Meal planning, preparation & shopping
Household tasks, including laundry and housework
Planning social and leisure activities including college, voluntary work, etc.
Establishing community links
Promoting self advocacy or supporting access to advocacy services
Health promotion and access to GP/dentist
Medication
Develop and maintain family and personal relationships
Continuity and consistency of support by experienced support workers chosen with the individuals involvement
Access to professionals as identified in individual support plans such as psychiatrists, occupational therapists, community psychiatric nurses, and speech and language support through our links with ITS

Providing 2 medical centres, an opticians, police, ambulance and fire stations the facilities in Holbeach help to establish an accessible and solid platform to meet the initial and developing needs of all our young people. Library and recreational resources are also available including a gym, park, tennis courts, football pitches and a youth club. Accessible through local transport.
