Mill House is a home for adults with enduring Mental Health problems; registered with CQC as a two star service and recently completely refurbished.  There is one alternative to hospital room block booked from the Norfolk and Waveney Mental Heath Team for those in crisis or in need of respite.

We provide residential care for adults with Mental Health needs and focus on enabling service users to reclaim control over their lives through use of the Recovery Model.

Specialist Expertise

Regard provides a bespoke care plan for each individual with a mental health disorder from the time they are referred to us.

In line with the policy of Recovery and Social Inclusion, we help service users relearn the skills required for daily living in order for them to move towards increased independence and minimum support.

As a result, we enable people to improve the quality of their lives and make positive changes in areas that are important to them, rather than just alleviating their symptoms.

About the Property

The home is staffed 24 hours a day with experienced trained personnel.  There is an RMN Trained Service Manager, part time cleaner, full time cook, as well as two senior support workers and 12 support workers.  The home has a sleeping night support worker and a waking night worker on duty overnight.  Staff receive full training in a range of areas.

Service users are encouraged to participate in the day to day running of their home as well as their own recovery to independence.  There are three communal areas and substantial gardens to relax and socialise in and also well maintained bedrooms and flats that can be decorated and furnished to the service users’ preference.

There are 11 ground floor rooms and the building has cottages for those requiring more independence or a quieter environment.

Our Services Offered

The village has shops, public houses, a church and visiting mobile library. Many of our service users enjoy local walks and bicycle rides.

There is a regular bus service into King's Lynn, where service users access the Leisure centre, swimming pool, cinema, MIND day services, theatres and more extensive shopping facilities.

Mill House has two vehicles in order to transport service users to appointments, home visits, leisure activities as well as voluntary work placements when public transport is not appropriate or available.
Situated very near to the north Norfolk coast (12miles from Hunstanton) means that we can take full advantage of all that the seaside resorts, coastal villages and nature reserves have to offer.

We are very fortunate to have the use of a beach hut, situated in Old Hunstanton and so most weekends involve a trip to the coast for those who wish to take part.
