Portland Street is a CQC registered home for residents from 18-65 with enduring Mental Health problems; and has retained a three star excellent service.

Portland Street will accept short, medium or long term referrals from all MH teams and has especially good relationships with Norfolk, Norwich and Peterborough.

We provide residential care for adults with Mental Health needs and focuses on enabling service users to reclaim control over their lives through use of the Recovery Model.

Specialist Expertise

Regard provides a bespoke care plan for each individual with a mental health disorder from the time they are referred to us.

In line with the policy of Recovery and Social Inclusion, we help service users relearn the skills required for daily living in order for them to move towards increased independence and minimum support.

As a result, we enable people to improve the quality of their lives and make positive changes in areas that are important to them, rather than just alleviating their symptoms.

  • We are motivated to have a good quality of life here.
  • I feel safe and secure.
  • I can go all around the town and enjoy visiting the library and the local gym.
  • I attend different courses ranging from music, yoga, IT., confidence building, cooking, needlework and art.
  • I feel better since I moved here and now I am being supported to move on.

Our Services Offered

Portland Street is opposite the Railway Station, very close to the Bus Station and town centre so is ideally situated for promoting independence with the service users.

Many of our service users enjoy local walks and bus trips across the area.

The home is close to the local swimming pool and leisure centres where service users can be supported to use the facilities on offer including gyms, saunas and access to sports parks for more specific training.  There is a vehicles to transport service users to appointments, home visits, leisure activities as well as voluntary work placements when public transport is not appropriate or available.

Situated very near to the north Norfolk coast (12miles from Hunstanton) means that we can take full advantage of all that the seaside resorts, coastal villages and nature reserves have to offer.

We are very fortunate to have the use of a beach hut, situated in Old Hunstanton and so most weekends involve a trip to the coast for those who wish to take part.
