Roman House is a 4 bed detached house that accommodates young people between the ages of 11 and 17 years old with learning disabilities, complex health needs, Autism and associated challenging behaviours.
Roman House experienced staff team aim to offer childcare that is nurturing, holistic and which offers stimulating life opportunities and reinforces healthy emotional and social development, founded on relationship building and mutual respect.
Roman House wishes to maintain the principle of good parenting, delivering care that values rights, individual identity and cultural diversity by ensuring the staff team work within the guidelines “ Care Matters “ framework and also “ Every Child Matters” five outcomes, and staff receive appropriate training to achieve this.
Specialist Expertise
Roman is committed in ensuring that every young person living in the home has a voice and should be heard, whatever challenges they face, and promoting a sense of empowerment for young people by encouraging them to take ownership of their home by becoming more involved in resident meetings and consultation procedures.
Post 16 pupils are encouraged and supported to attend local colleges and work experience placements.
Staff from Roman House attend and support young people at Regard Learning Education Centre and local colleges where necessary to fully support them and offer the consistent support and boundaries which they need to develop.
As young people reach 16years of age the home offers a semi independence programme enabling the young people further develop the skills they need for later life.
About the Property
Roman House is located in a semi rural village close to the towns of Holbeach and Spalding and has a large front garden and rear garden where barbeques, picnics and games take place. There is a trampoline and in the summer months a splash pool for the young people to use.
The home consists of individual bedrooms allowing young people privacy and dignity. The home offers two bathrooms giving a choice of a bath and shower. Upstairs is a computer and games room.
The home has a spacious and comfortable lounge with DVD and TV and the heart of the home is the large well equipped kitchen and dining area.
The home is furnished to a high standard and has a professional gardener to ensure the gardens are kept clean and safe to use.
The home is spacious enough to allow the young people the freedom they require but still with staff able to keep suitable supervision at all times.
Regular activities on offer are- bowling, youth club, cadets, football, gym, horse riding and cycling. Trips to the seaside, cinema, theme parks and an annual summer holiday are also offered.
Our Services Offered
What the service is proud to provide:
- Full 24 hour support for all young people following an initial assessment and identified needs
- Development of understanding for informed choice of positive risk taking to prepare for independence.
- Full time education at the fully Department of Education registered Learning Education Centre in Gedney Hill with a personalised educational package specific to individual needs.
- Full access to Speech and Language therapy, as part of the initial package, through our links with Integrated Treatment Services. Any other therapies required are available e.g., psychotherapy input, Art and music therapy, occupational therapy.

Consistent and continuous care managed by an experienced manager, senior team and NVQ 3 qualified support workers.
