Specialist Expertise
Regard will provide a bespoke care plan for each individual based on their own needs through a considered assessment and discharge process. In line with the policy of Recovery and Social Inclusion, we help service users relearn the skills required for daily living in order for them to move towards increased independence and minimum support.
As a result, we enable people to improve the quality of their lives and make positive changes in areas that are important to them, rather than just alleviating their symptoms.
The type of support we can offer includes:
-
Prompts to take medication
-
Assistance with making benefit claims, managing finances (including bill payments), managing debt
-
Assistance with changes in individual support levels and move-on accommodation. Includes enabling the tenant to contact and gain access to services relevant to setting up home and tenancy or which will otherwise enhance their ability to live independently
-
Occasional help with running errands and ‘good neighbour’ tasks.
-
Advice on issues relating to or impacting upon the tenants housing situation. Includes signposting to other services
-
Enabling the tenant to develop the social skills needed to interact in a variety of housing related situations such as dealing with problems or disputes with neighbours.
-
Advice on behaviour required to adhere to tenancy conditions
-
Advising and supporting tenants in accessing employment, training or education
-
Advice and encouragement in obtaining peer support. Support to access befriending services
-
Encouragement to develop social networks.
-
Health-related advice and information, signposting to other services.
-
Advising the tenant on establishing both personal safety and the security of their home
-
Prompts and encouragement to carry out cleaning and other domestic tasks.
-
Provision of eligible support which forms part of a rehabilitation plan for a tenant following illness, accident or acquired disability
About the Property
Sail Close has been developed on the site of an old Mill, next door to Regard’s residential service, Mill House. All the apartments have their own front doors, separate living space and bedrooms, as well as a fully fitted well equipped kitchen and bath or shower room.
Individual intruder and fire alarm systems as well as emergency lighting are standard.
Features of the old mill have been incorporated into the development providing exciting bespoke environments with ample parking facilities. Some apartments have their own private patio or garden. In addition there is a large communal courtyard/garden where tenants can socialise, have barbeques and also grow their own vegetables; this also has free range chickens providing a supply of fresh eggs. Within the old Mill building there is a communal room with a pool table that can
be used for socialising or for meetings.
