Clareville Road

3 Clareville Road is a Registered Care Home with the Care Quality Commission which provides support and care for up to 10 adults with Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviours. The support staff provide twenty four hour care using Person Centred Support Plans to maximise independence, and identify areas of support required. The service principles are consistent with the philosophy of the Government White Paper; “Valuing People” which ensures a focus on the Service Users Rights, Inclusion, Choice and Independence. 3 Clareville Road is located in a residential street two minutes from Caterham where there are excellent transport links, local shops and facilities.

Specialist Expertise

All staff are trained in statutory training and the Common Induction Standards as set up by the General Skills Council. In addition to this all staff have specialised training in the following areas; Epilepsy, Autism, Makaton and Challenging behaviour theory and practical intervention.

The manager is a Surrey Autism Champion and trained with Surrey Council in 2007 to achieve this specialism which is passed onto the rest of the staff team.

Our Services Offered

Support to colleges/day centres and leisure activities provided. Support is structured to ensure each person has the opportunity to access a full range of daytime activities individual to them including the opportunity for employment where possible.

There is an ethos of promoting independence and skilling people up all the time and all individuals are encouraged to do as much as they are able to as well as a focus on maximising ability around all daily living tasks such as cleaning, laundry, personal care, travel training, money skills and cooking. Support around these tasks is closely monitored and adjusted regularly in reflection with changing needs and abilities.

The home has a 7 seater vehicle which individuals can use for longer journeys when public transport cannot be accessed.

Each individual is offered a supported holiday on an annual basis in line with their support package.

Clareville is a 1900s detached house across 4 floors based on a residential road in Caterham, Surrey. The service has a large lounge, spacious dining area, kitchen area, shower room, 3 bathrooms, ground floor toilet, a small skills building kitchen on the first floor for 1:1 cookery sessions, a laundry room, large enclosed garden and 10 single bedrooms- 3 are on the first floor.

Caterham has 2 supermarkets, newsagents, a theatre, an adult education centre for people with disabilities, a library, places of worship, clothes shops and a range of cafes, restaurants and pubs. Also the larger towns of Purley, Croydon and Redhill are just a short bus or train ride away where larger shopping malls and more facilities can be accessed.
