Regard’s aim is to provide the highest possible quality of support to the people who use our services. We have vast experience in supporting young adults on the autistic spectrum. Our enabling, self empowering approach is tailored to a person’s aspirations, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Transition from residential college or the family home is an exciting but sometimes stressful time for the individual and their family. We aim to provide a seamless transition by ensuring our experienced staff team place the individual at the centre of the transition process but also facilitate partnership working with all key members within the person’s circle of support. Packages of support are tailored to reflect individual need with core emphasis based on enabling people to gain confidence and increased independence with all aspects of daily living.
Here at Orchard View we specalise in supporting young adults with learning disabilities who may also have associated complex behavioral needs and or autism. We also currently support young people with Smith Magenis Syndrome and FAS.
Orchard View is a very active, vibrant service and support is flexibly structured to meet the busy life’s of the young people accessing colleges, employment and numerous local social and recreational opportunities. We have strong links with local residential colleges and are currently in the process of supporting two service users who joined us from residential college when they were 19 years old to now move onto supported living.
The property
Orchard View is a large detached listed building located within a quiet residential area of Frinsbury Strood.
It has excellent public transport links to the local area including trains and buses to the historical city of Rochester, Maidstone, London and South East Costal resorts.
The home has recently undergone re-decoration and all service users have been fully involved in the selection of colors and furnishings.
On the ground floor there is a large lounge, dinning room and kitchen. There are also four bedrooms a shower room and separate toilet.
On the first floor there are five further bedrooms, two bathrooms and a separate toilet
Outside is a beautiful extensive garden with trampoline and BBQ entertainment area which is hub of social activity during the summer months.
Service users like to keep the garden pristinely maintained and will tend to the vegetable patch and flower garden on a daily basis.
