Regard’s aim is to provide the highest possible quality of support to the people who use our services. We support individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs. Our enabling, self empowering approach is tailored to a person’s aspirations, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Sheldon Drive is unique in the model of supported living it can provide. We have individual tenant’s rooms with access to communal living on the ground floor and a fully contained flatlet on the first floor. The service is ideal for people with learning disabilities who are ready to take the next step towards independent living, be that from residential care or family setting. Two of the tenants at Sheldon Drive once lived in residential services and another tenant has recently moved onto his own flat in the community. They have all made fantastic progress and achieved some very positive personal outcomes, in relation to independence and quality of life.
The Property
Shelden Drive is a lovely five bedroom detached bungalow set in the heart of Rainham.
This property has a multitude of community facilities very close-by, including supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, leisure centres, and many more. The home has excellent rail and roads links; the railway station and bus stops are within easy walking distance, providing excellent access to other towns and shopping centres nearby. Plus good links to London and the coast.
On the ground floor there are three bedrooms, spacious lounge, kitchen bathroom and separate, toilet. All bedrooms are decorated to personal taste and requirements. The large garden is enjoyed by all as a hub of social activity during the summer months.
The first floor houses a charming individual studio flat which consists of a large bedroom with built-in cupboard space, its own bathroom with overhead shower and a small kitchenette. This is an excellent resource for tenants who are in the process of preparing for a move onto independent living.
The Service
The team at Sheldon Drive provides high quality support which is tailored to reflect individual need. This is achieved through our ‘Outcome Focused Person Centered Plans’ and we closely follow the Government’s ‘Valuing People’ criteria which ensures that we respect tenant’s rights, inclusion, choice, and independence at all times.
