Our Highdowns service provides opportunities for individuals with learning disabilities and mental health conditions to live in a registered care environment that can provide and equip them with the skills they need to live the life they choose including moving onto supported living when they are ready. The individuals that use our service require 24 hour support in a safe environment which encourages and promotes people to gain confidence in their lives, and promotes decision making and choice through a person centred approach, which is individualised and dependent on the specific needs and communication requirements of each person
Set in a rural community and surrounded by 10 acres of countryside Highdowns provides a service for 14 people, in 4 different properties across one site. These are a main house for 7 people, a newly refurbished barn cottage for 2 people, a barn conversion of an individual unit of bedroom, sitting room, kitchen and bathroom for 1 person and a converted and recently refurbished property specifically designed to encourage 4 people to become more independent. Highdowns provides the highest level of 24 hour support, in all four properties, and promotes and encourages independence and integration into the community.
