212 High Street is a Registered Care Home providing twenty-four hour support for 3 adults with a Learning Disability and Mental Health issues. The home is situated very close to the town centre, which offers many leisure facilities that are easily accessible. Most facilities are within walking distance and where residents choose activities that are not easily accessible or available; arrangements are made to acquire the necessary services.

This service is ideal for service users that have mild learning disabilities and associated mental health issues. We specialise in supporting individuals with bi-polar, schizophrenia, depression, and epilepsy.

Our Services Offered

Our service design is based on active support and ensuring that service users can reach their full potential. We do this by developing circles of support within the community and expanding on the service user’s family and friends. We have close links with other partnerships where service users can access specialist educational facilities. Due to the location of the service, individuals can develop their independence in the community and we will work with the service user to create a positive risk taking lifestyle to enable them to have opportunities to gain full citizenship. The home will also work closely with the service user on building and growing their daily living skills within the home i.e. cooking and domestic skills.

About the Property

The property is situated on the main road approaching Blackwood town centre therefore community resources are easily accessed. All 3 bedrooms are situated on the 1st/2nd floor therefore referrals with mobility issues are not accepted. The communal facilities consist of front TV lounge, sitting room, and kitchen and laundry room. A small garden is accessed through double patio doors where service users can sit in the summer months and also enjoy getting involved in growing vegetables and flowers. All 3 bedrooms are for single occupancy and there is access to a bathroom and shower room as well as a w/c on the ground floor and 1st floor.
