Beudygwyn is a registered care home with CSSIW and is situated in a quiet, peaceful, and rural part of Anglesey near Cemaes Bay. It is a 15 acre non-working farm and the site includes a detached 4 bedded farmhouse and 4 cottages. The nearby towns of Holyhead and Llangefni are a short drive away enabling service users to access the benefits of all resources associated with busy towns.
Specialist Expertise
The staff are all trained in line with the Care Council for Wales framework, have specialist training to work with autism, communication, person centred planning and service users that may need support with challenging behaviour. We are able to support service users with physical difficulties and mild to moderate learning disabilities. The Manager is trained to NVQ level 4 in Care and at least 50% of the team have acquired NVQ level 2 in Care. Beudygwyn is a small farm and we have a number of animals that service users help to take care of in order to facilitate a therapeutic environment. Many of the staff are trained and experienced to work on the farm and therefore there is the facility for service users to be actively involved in farm maintenance and animal husbandry.
Our Services Offered
At Beudygwyn there is a full, planned schedule of activities, including an activities room, where many of the activities take place during the day and evening. As Beudygwyn is situated within a short distance to amazing beaches, many of the activities are based outdoors around the beach and local, small seaside towns. The Service Users are fully involved in all aspects of the running of Beudygwyn, and with the support of staff, grow their own vegetables and summer fruits. Each Service User has an allocated key worker and therefore there is the facility to ensure that support is offer to assist service users with their personal shopping, accessing the community or being supported to learn to cook and budget their finances.
About the Property
The main house is registered for 3 service users with learning disabilities and all 3 bedrooms are on the 1st floor. There is a kitchen, bathroom, lounge, and sensory room. Within the 4 cottages there are a further 11 registered beds that are suitable for service users with learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities. Each cottage has its own lounge/dining room and kitchen, the bathrooms all have wet rooms and there is ground floor accommodation. One of the cottages has a self contained flat that is suitable for a service user that needs rehabilitation training to move from residential care to a more independent setting.
