Faerdre is an attractive spacious detached country house near the market town of Llandysul where service users can access all the amenities one would expect to find in a small town. It is situated in and overlooks the beautiful surrounding countryside of rural West Wales. The home is also a short drive from the wonderful beaches of Cardigan Bay. Located within large private grounds, Faerdre comprises of 8 bedrooms for single occupancy, two of which are located on the ground floor. There is a spacious sitting room, a cosy quiet room, a separate dining room area and a large kitchen.
Due to its agricultural setting, Service Users are afforded the opportunity to care for animals and they currently ‘look after’ a cat, fish and chickens. A goat house is in production and the Service Users are active in their vegetable garden producing potatoes, beans, peas and many other crops.
Specialist Expertise
Well trained, experienced staff produce individually tailored person centred support plans and full needs/risk assessments. The plans/assessments pertain to all aspects of personal care, social integration, independent living skills and community support. Continuity and consistency of the support approach is managed by an experienced service manager who is able to access specialist expertise as required. This includes psychiatry, positive behavioural management, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and a vast variety of holistic approaches. Faerdre works with an outcome focused approach to ensure that service users have active ‘live’ support plans and are fully integrated within their local community. Service user led, independent skills maintaining/training schemes are produced for each service user’s identified requirements and approached in a structured manner to ensure service users benefit fully from these.
