Our Services Offered

The home has waking staff 24 hours a day and provides a specialist service to male and female adults with physical and learning disabilities and associated complex disorders including dementia, epilepsy, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour. Due to an increase in the number of older people we now provide care and support for, it is essential to offer the support they require to stay in their own homes when requiring palliative care. The home works with health care professionals and the nurse response team and where palliative care is needed we ensure that service users care needs are assessed and met through our partnership working. The support with end of life is provided in a sensitive manner to ensure the service user is made as comfortable as possible, ensuring dignity, privacy and respect is maintained until the end. During this period of time the home calls on the community to support the service user in line with their wishes, the local vicar may come to visit the service users and their family. Families may visit for long periods of time and at unsociable hours; professionals can often be called out in any 24 hour period. The staff team at the home ensure that the care and support the home provides is done sensitively and professionally. They continue to manage the day to day running of the home catering for all other service user needs, but they ensure that the last days or hours of a services user are met with privacy, dignity and respect.
