Llwyngwian is a detached small holding situated amongst six acres of hillside, which is a short drive but within walking distance from the quaint village of Dyffryn Ardudwy, North Wales. It boasts panoramic views of Cardigan Bay and the surrounding hillside. Llwyngwian Fawr is a registered residential service for adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health problems and associated challenging behaviours. We are able to provide day care facilities and 24 hour support. The support staff provide round the clock care, using Person Centred Plans to maximise independence. Although we are registered with CSSIW to provide support for people 18-65 years of age, the ages of the current service users range from 25-45 years old.

Specialist Expertise

Service users at Llwyngwian Fawr have an active day care programme provided at the farm. The activity programme ensures that service users are encouraged to take part in animal husbandry, growing vegetables and general farm labour. Other services accessed locally include Riding for the Disabled and Swimming for the Disabled.  Emphasis is placed on supporting individuals to develop their social and interpersonal skills, empowering them to gain control over their own lives. This is achieved through our service user plans, which are developed by the service user with support from people such as their key worker, advocate, specialist teams, or their care manager. The service user plan provides structure within which to address individual needs, choices and aspirations, emphasising service user involvement and inclusion. The service users are supported to use all local resources including colleges, community courses, leisure facilities and social activities.
