Vicky Bailey, Support Worker at a house in Talworth Street, Cardiff, has been shortlisted for the Supported Living Care Practitioner Award. Kelly Prosser, who is manager of Domiciliary Care Services in Cardiff has been nominated for an award in Leadership and Management in Supported Living.
Vicky Bailey lives in Splott, Cardiff, working with people with both mental health and learning disabilities, assisting them to source appropriate activities. Among her achievements has been her support of a woman living in Talworth Street to find work with Oxfam, enabling her to find friends and have independence.
Kelly Prosser is the Registered Manager of the Regard Domiciliary Care Services in Cardiff where it was identified there were very large deficits within the service. In March 2014 she implemented a new care planning system, overseeing three domiciliary supported living services in the Cardiff area.
She completed the implementation of the new care planning system within six months.
The Wales Care Awards were first held in 2003 and are an annual fixture in the care calendar. Winners will be announced at a special event in City Hall, Cardiff on November 6.
