James is the Head of Behaviour Support with Regard. He has a Master’s degree in Analysis and Intervention in Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviour from the University of Kent’s Tizard Centre; has studied applied behaviour analysis at the University of North Texas and is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS)…

James has worked in the field of learning disability for 17 years in the UK and the USA, specialising in consultancy and training and in casework, as a certified advocate from the University of East London. He has worked for Mencap both at a local and national level, providing facilitation and support at service level and within Europe. He also has experience as an NHS behavioural specialist.

James has provided consultancy to a number of care providers in his past, is currently the vice chair on the board of directors for a learning disability charity and sits on number of national steering groups including: specialist interest group concerning PBS hosted by the UKSBA; is on Expert Advisory Group for CQC for learning disabilities; is a national forum member at Westminster for Department of Work and Pensions and has spoken on the subject of positive behaviour support at the House of Lords.

He has provided facilitation at events including people’s parliaments and partnership boards and provided training in multimedia person-centered planning, advocacy, learning disability and awareness support and accessible information approaches, such as easy read, with partner agencies including the Metropolitan Police, local authorities and North East London NHS Trust. He has also provided project work and consultancy services to the Care Quality Commission and Valuing People Support Teams.

Ioanna has worked in the field of learning disability specialising in challenging behaviours. She holds an MSc in Foundations of Clinical Neuropsychology and is a published researcher. Ioanna also holds a British Psychological Society accredited Honours degree in Psychology and Bachelors in Philosophy, Education and Psychology. She was worked with adults and young adults with learning disability, autism and personality disorder and has held an honorary position as an Assistant Psychologist specialising in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, emotion regulation and anger management. In addition, Ioanna has also been a trainer hosting training courses on challenging behaviour, therapeutic prevention and management of violence and aggression and compilation of Behaviour Support Plans. Ioanna also has completed courses in applied behaviour analysis from University of North Texas and is a certified PROACT-SCIPr-UK® Principle (train the trainer) in positive behaviour support. Additionally Ioanna has also completed training run Gary LaVigna in our training partnership with the Institute for Applied Behavioural Analysis (IABA) in positive practices in behavioural support.

Francesca has a Master’s Degree in Developmental Psychology and British Psychological Society Accredited Foundation Degree in Psychology. She has experience working within an independent special needs school as an ABA Tutor. Francesca also has experience with adults with learning disabilities and autism in residential settings as a Support Worker and supported living as a care assistant. In addition, she previously has experience working within a Positive Behavioural Support Service focusing on behavioural interventions and support for adults with LD, Autism and complex needs. Francesca also has completed courses in applied behaviour analysis from University of North Texas and is a certified PROACT-SCIPr-UK® trainer in positive behaviour support. Additionally Francesca has also completed training run Gary LaVigna in our training partnership with the Institute for Applied Behavioural Analysis (IABA) in positive practices in behavioural support.

Victoria has been working in the field of learning disabilities and challenging behaviour for the past 10 years. Victoria started working firstly as a support worker and worked her way up to a unit manager position and has experience working with adults and children with learning disabilities and autism who display behaviours which may challenge, most recently working in a special needs school. Victoria has also recently completed her BSc in Intellectual and developmental disabilities at the Tizard Centre, University of Kent. This included person centred planning, positive behavioural support and applied behavioural analysis. Victoria additionally has NVQ 3 in health and social care and has experience in active support and total communication. Victoria also has completed courses in applied behaviour analysis from University of North Texas and is a certified PROACT-SCIPr-UK® trainer in positive behaviour support. Additionally Victoria has also completed training run Gary LaVigna in our training partnership with the Institute for Applied Behavioural Analysis (IABA) in positive practices in behavioural support.

Fran is a psychology graduate in the field of ‘Psychology of Education’ & special education. Fran has worked and volunteered with children and adults with autism and learning disabilities in both school and residential settings implementing executing assessment programs and behaviour support plans. Fran has completed an ABA ‘basics in behaviour’ course and currently works with individuals displaying challenging behaviour. Fran also has completed courses in applied behaviour analysis from University of North Texas and is a certified PROACT-SCIPr-UK® trainer in positive behaviour support. Additionally Fran has also completed training run Gary LaVigna in our training partnership with the Institute for Applied Behavioural Analysis (IABA) in positive practices in behavioural support.
