Details of vacancy: There is currently one vacancy at Arden House.

Current profile of service: Arden House is a semi-detached house, overlooking Preston Park and is close to the centre of Brighton. Located on the ground floor we have a kitchen and a large lounge/dining area. The top two floors have 4 bedrooms (two en-suite and a separate bathroom for the other two rooms). There is also a kitchen and separate lounge for the tenants to utilise. There is a decent sized patio garden at the rear of the property, with its own vegetable patch and BBQ area. This is a hub of social activity during the summer months.

Focus of service: We will provide high quality support through our ‘Outcome Focused Person Centred Plans’. For individuals we provide: Budget Planning and finances Menu planning, shopping and cooking; social activities/inclusion and community links; vocational and educational opportunities; administration of medication. Support with health facilitation; transport training where applicable. Our aim is to decrease 1:1 support hours as skills are further developed and greater independence gained where possible.

Hours provided: Staff are available 24 hours a day, including a night staff member.

Arden House is a semi-detached house, overlooking Preston Park and is close to the centre of Brighton.The house is on four levels with kitchens and lounges for tenants available to use on three floors. The top two floors have 4 bedrooms (two with ensuite bathrooms and two with a shared bathroom). There is a good sized patio garden with vegetable patch and barbecue area where tenants have the opportunity to socialise and grow vegetables during the summer months.

24 hours a day shared support; which currently includes sleep-in support. 1:1 support for specific identified assessed needs. We can evidence reduction in 1:1 support hours as tenants gain new skills and greater independence. Support is structured to ensure that the individual has the opportunity to access a full range of social activities within the community e.g. football, cinema swimming and local clubs and where possible employment opportunities and access to local colleges. A well motivated and enthusiastic trained staff team, trained in NVQ, Supported Living, Epilepsy, challenging behavior, autism and all the core mandatory training requirements. Specialist training will be provided to meet individual assessed need if required. Support individuals in accessing appointments with all health care professionals.

Chris has been working with adults with learning disabilities for five years and been a manager for three of those. He is very passionate about supporting people and making a positive difference to people’s lives. Chris has experience of working with people that have behaviours that can challenge autism, PICA, and physical disabilities. Chris promotes having a person-centred approach and works flexibly and is adaptable to achieve this. Chris is currently in the process of completing his QCF 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care.

    Within the team there is a depth of experiences working in the social care sector as many of them have worked in other areas which they use their experiences to aid the service users life’s, also many of the staff take part in the arts and this is noticeable as the staff team are creative in the way they work. Many of them are doing work related courses that increase their knowledge in the ever-changing climate of social care.

    Investors in People Gold tea party celebrations at Arden House

    We were delighted to learn that we have been awarded the prestigious Gold Investors In People standard and decided to celebrate by holding a company-wide ‘Gold Tea Party’ in all of our Regard services on 30th September.
