Current profile of service: Bowermount is a large semi-detached house. The home provides 9 self-contained flats. Bowermount is within walking distance of Maidstone Town Centre. All nine flats have en-suite bathrooms and kitchenettes. They are decorated to a high standard and personalised to suit individual tastes. On the ground floor there is communal lounge and dining area for tenants and a substantial patio garden at the rear of the property, with its own seating and BBQ area which is a hub of social activity during the summer months.Two of the flats are on the ground floor, suitable for tenants with mobility needs. There is ramped access to the front and rear of the property. The other seven flatlets are located over three further floors of the property.

Focus of service: Promoting independence and supporting individuals to access further education, employment, social and recreational activities. Person-centred transition plans are developed for each individual to develop their budgeting skills and to become more independent in all areas of their lives. At Bower Mount Road we support individuals with learning disabilities and or autism. Our enabling, self-empowering approach is tailored to meet individual aspirations, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Hours provided: Staff are available 24 hours a day, including a sleep-in night staff member. This service would suit people moving from residential care or their family home.

Bower Mount Road is a large semi-detached property, near Westborough Sports Centre and within walking distance of Maidstone Town Centre.

All nine flats have en-suite bathrooms and kitchenettes. They are decorated to a high standard and personalised to suit individual tastes.

On the ground floor there is communal lounge and dining area for tenants and a substantial patio garden at the rear of the property, with its own seating and BBQ area. This is a hub of social activity during the summer months.

Two of the flats are on the ground floor, suitable for tenants with mobility needs. There is ramped access to the front and rear of the property.The other seven flatlets are located over three further floors of the property.

Buses into the centre of Maidstone run every 10 minutes. with regular rail links to London and the South East.

All tenants are socially active and are able to access a wide variety of activities within the local community.

24 hours a day shared support; which currently includes sleep-in support.

1:1 support for specific assessed needs.

We can evidence reduction in 1:1 support hours as tenants gain new skills and greater independence.

Support is structured to ensure that each individual has the opportunity to access a full range of social and educational activities within the community.

Support for individuals in accessing appointments with all health care professionals.including community learning disability teams.

The Manager: Sharon Donlon has worked in the care industry for 10 years, she has NVQ level 3 and has been a manager for the last 3 years.

The Team of nine have over 35 years experience in working with Adults with Learning Disabilities. A well motivated and enthusiastic trained staff team, trained in NVQ, Supported Living, Epilepsy, challenging behavior, autism and all the core mandatory training requirements. Specialist training will be provided to meet individual assessed needs if required.
