Type of Service: Castle Street is a supported living service situated in a picturesque cottage in Cranborne. At Castle Street three tenants live at the service and receive support from the Regard Domiciliary Care Dorset. By using assistive technology to complement the support provided by staff, we are able to meet individual needs. We will ensure that people feel safe and secure in their own home within the community, so that they can enjoy an active life.

Age Range: 18 - 40 years

Details of current vacancy: One large, first floor room with a shared bathroom available within a small three bed service

Current Profile: At Castle Street three tenants live at the service and receive support from the Regard Domiciliary Care Dorset.

Hours Provided: Packages of hours are agreed on assessed need.

Focus of Service: The bespoke support provided, centres on individual need and focuses on developing independence, person-centred life skills, communication, social skills and choice.

Castle Street is located in the village of Cranborne at the heart of the Cranborne Chase, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The service is a 3 bed room semi detached house, with a mature well stocked garden.

Anyone using our supported living service can expect to be respected as a tenant in their own right and receive housing-related support from the landlord. We have trained and experienced staff to ensure that individuals feel safe and secure in their own home and within the community, so that they can enjoy an active life there.

Regard supports individuals in: Having opportunities to extend their skills and friendships. Feeling more able and better equipped to manage a home and live in a community. Accessing the project and having their needs assessed and met in a planned way. Remaining informed and able to participate in the project. Resettlement activities. Accessing appointments with professionals such as social workers and GPs Performing errands, chatting and contacting relatives Organising events and taking part in groups and tenant forums Maintaining the safety of their property Budgeting and claiming disability benefits Developing life skills, such as cleaning their home and preparing food

The manager of the service is Paul Card, who holds NVQ4 and Registered Manager Award. He has worked in various sectors of the care industry including residential care, supported living, staff training, and the provision of vocational training for people with mental health issues & learning disabilities.

All staff within the services are trained to a high standard in areas, including: Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Epilepsy, Down Syndrome and managing people courses.
