Age range: 28 - 70.

Current profile of service: The service benefits from a large communal lounge and dining area. There is a large garden where throughout the summer months time spent in the garden, is often in shared activities.

Hours provided. Core staff are available throughout the waking day with 1 waking night staff and 1 sleep in, included in the core staffing levels.

Focus of service:Our aim is to use a person-centred approach to support individuals to achieve their goals, participate in meaningful activities and to build on their skills.

Cornerleigh is a large spacious Victorian House, which has been modernised and extended. All bedrooms and communal rooms are decorated to the personal choice of the people living at the home. There is a large garden and patio area.

Cornerleigh is situated on the corner of Fourth Avenue, not far from the centre of Havant. The main bus routes to Havant, Emsworth and Portsmouth are close by, as well as a train station 5 minutes walking from the service.

Sara Hewson is the manager at Cornerleigh.

The team supporting Sara have over 60 years of experience between them in health and social care. Staff complete service specific training courses in areas including; autism, epilepsy, acquired brain injury, makaton and managing challenging behaviours and apply their knowledge and skills within the service.

Staff have completed their NVQ2 and/or NVQ3 in health and social care and new staff are supported and encouraged to undertake this qualification.
