Park Road


The service is able to support individuals from the age of 17 as part of a transitional model of support we promote at Regard. In each case we would work closely with all parties to ensure an agreed approach is put in place to help an individual make that transition in to adulthood a positive one.

Specialism: Supported living for people with learning disabilities with a focus on developing further independent skills.

Current profile of service: Park Road is a Victorian house near to the centre of Sittingbourne and has all the community facilities one would expect to find in a town centre. The home has excellent transport links direct to London, Maidstone, Ashford and coastal resorts. Park Road has been split into two self-contained areas. On the ground floor there are 3 fully furnished bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, and living area. Upstairs, there are a further 6 furnished, self-contained rooms with fully fitted kitchenettes. There is a communal lounge, bathroom, toilet, shower and laundry room

Focus of service: Promoting independence, employment opportunities and person centred transition plans for independent living. Two of the tenants at Park Road have recently moved onto their own flats in the community and Regard continues to provide outreach support. They have all made fantastic progress and achieved some very positive personal outcomes, in relation to independence and quality of life.

Hours provided: Staff are available 24 hours a day including a sleep in night staff member. This service would suit people moving from residential care or their family home.

Park Road is a Victorian house near to the centre of Sittingbourne and has all the community facilities one would expect to find in a town centre location including some supermarkets, shops, restaurants, pubs, a cinema and other leisure facilities. The home has excellent transport links direct to London, Maidstone, Ashford and coastal resorts.

Park Road has been split into two self-contained areas. Within the ground floor there are 3 fully furnished bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, and living area. Upstairs, there are a further 6 furnished self-contained rooms with fully fitted kitchenettes. There is a communal lounge, bathroom, toilet, shower and laundry room.

  • 24 hours a day shared support; which currently includes sleep-in support
  • 1:1 support for specific identified assessed needs
  • We can evidence reduction in 1:1 support hours as tenants gain new skills and greater independence
  • Support is structured to ensure that the individual has the opportunity to access a full range of social activities within the community e.g. football, cinema, swimming and local clubs and where possible employment opportunities and access to local colleges
  • A well motivated and enthusiastic trained staff team, trained in NVQ, supported living, epilepsy and all the core mandatory training requirements. Specialist training will be provided to meet individual assessed needs if required
  • Support individuals in accessing appointments with all healthcare professionals
  • We have positive working relationships with the local housing department, health professionals from community learning disability teams and families
  • We provide outreach support for tenants now living locally in the community (whom once lived at Park Road)

    Amanda Pryer leads the team at Park Road, Shelden Drive and Canterbury Road. She has been with Regard for 11 years and is qualified to ILM level 5. With 20 years of experience within the care sector she is able to lead and develop an excellent team and service.

    All staff within the services are trained to a high standard in areas, including: Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Epilepsy, and managing people courses. The staff have also been with Regard for a number of years themselves, as this will add a level of expertise and experience to the team and service.

    Investors in People Gold tea party celebrations at Park Road

    We were delighted to learn that we have been awarded the prestigious Gold Investors In People standard and decided to celebrate by holding a company-wide ‘Gold Tea Party’ in all of our Regard services on 30th September.
