Wakeling House is a supported living service for adults with learning disabilities.

Details of vacancy: First floor room with dedicated bath and shower room available

Current profile of service: Situated in Barton Mills, Suffolk, Wakeling House has 3 ground floor ensuite rooms with extra living space and 3 first floor, large, en-suite rooms. There are communal areas on both floors as well as a large communal kitchen on the ground floor.

Focus of service: Wakeling House’s philosophy is one of person centred support which gives choice and independence which enables service users to develop and maintain skills to give them opportunities and freedom to be as independent as possible.

Hours provided: High levels of 24 hour support from experienced staff. Service users are individually assessed on a 1:1 basis for their support needs.

Wakeling House is situated in the picturesque village of Barton Mills in the Forest Heath area of north-west Suffolk. There is a vibrant village community and access to local towns such as Mildenhall by a local bus service.

Wakeling House has 3 ground floor en-suite rooms with extra living space and 3 first floor, large, en-suite rooms. There are communal areas on both floors as well as a large communal kitchen on the ground floor.

Wakeling House has a philosophy of person-centred support, giving choice, independence and encouragement, enabling the service users to develop and maintain skills to give them the freedom to be as independent as possible, to reach their potential and realise their dreams. We will support new opportunities for achievement with informed choices and managed risks so that there is a continuous path of progress within the community.

Kirsten Brooks service manager at Wakeling House has over 20 year’s experience within the care sector. She has extensive experience with autism and challenging behaviour, having worked for a number of years with people with brain injuries and learning difficulties. The team at Wakeling house have a combined wealth of experience within social and health care settings and have an infectious positive attitude to empowering and supporting the service users at the house, staff are supported with ongoing training and career development at every opportunity, to ensure everybody thrives and our service users have the best possible support.

The Regard Group has named a new service after a council worker who delayed her retirement to support a group of people with learning disabilities.
