Age Range 20 to 40.

Current Profile of Service The home comprises a communal lounge, dining room and attached kitchen with a separate laundry area. There is a lift to the first floor and all bedrooms have an en suite bathroom

Hours Provided The service has two waking members of staff and background staff during the day. Individuals are assessed for 1:1 hours.

Focus of Service All service users are encouraged to maximize their independent living skills. All have a person-centred plan, care plans for independent living skills and individual activity plans to ensure they take part in meaningful activities both inside and outside the home

All service users are encouraged to maximise their independent living skills. All have a person-centred plan, care plans for independent living skills and individual activity plans to ensure they take part in meaningful activities both inside and outside the home. Staff can also look into any activities not currently available that residents would like to take part in.

The home comprises a communal lounge, dining room and attached kitchen with a separate laundry area. There is a lift to the first floor and all bedrooms have an en suite bathroom, shower or wet room.

The home is benefited by a large garden containing a sensory cabin. Local amenities and transport are good and Horley is only 40 minutes from London by train.

Jane Burse, the service manager is an ex – qualified Learning Disability Nurse since 1990 with an NVQ 4 Management qualification and a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care. With 30 years of experience within the care sector, and having been registered with the Statutory body since 1995 she is able to lead and develop an excellent team and service to support the individuals who live at Whitehatch. Jane prides herself on being resident focused and ensures that all the individuals we support are empowered to make choices and participate fully in the running of their home, even though they have complex disabilities.

The team supporting Jane have over 20 years of experience between them within health and social care. A number have completed specialist training in areas such as Autism; managing challenging behaviours; and Active Support training and are able to apply this knowledge within the service. They are also competent in supporting people with diabetes, complex epilepsy, and physical disabilities. The team have a variety of skills which mix to form a bespoke service of quality care.
