Withersfield Lodge is a supported living service is situated in the growing town of Haverhill, approximately 1 mile from the town centre and provides a tenant based supported living environment to 7 adults with learning disabilities.

Specialism: Learning Disabilities, Mental Health issues and other associated needs. Individuals with Asperger’s and/or other Autistic spectrum conditions and Individuals with ADD and/or ADHD

Type of Service: Withersfield Lodge specialises in supporting people who have previously lived in a residential setting and require support to make choices and decisions in their lives. The team work with the person to enable them to make sure that the decisions they make are self-determining and evidence a smooth transition from residential to supported living, positively enabling and encouraging them to have confidence in making choices and enhance and further their daily living skills.

Age Range: 35 +

Current Profile of Service: Withersfield can accommodate 7 adults with individual rooms and plenty of communal areas.

Hours Provided: There are staff available on site 24 hours a day, including a shared sleep-in.

Focus of Service: The service centres on individual need and focuses on developing independence, person-centred life skills, communication, social skills and service users.choice.

Withersfield Lodge is a large detached house with a large enclosed rear garden benefiting from mature shrubs and trees. As well as seven bedrooms there is a lounge, an additional quiet room, dining room and separate kitchen, 3 bathrooms including a wet room & separate laundry room. Situated on the outskirts of the town there is easy access via public transport and it is just a short distance to most local amenities.

Full needs and risk assessments completed by trained and experienced staff in liaison with the individual and anyone else they wish to be involved such as family, friend, or advocate. We will support tenants with a range of activities including budget planning and support with finances, along with meal planning, preparation and shopping, household tasks, including laundry and housework. Planning social and leisure activities including college, voluntary work, establishing community links, promoting self advocacy or supporting access to advocacy services. We provide continuity and consistency of support by experienced support workers chosen with the individuals involvement.

John Jopling is the team leader at Withersfield Lodge. Prior to working at Regard, John was a mechanic for fourteen years and a prison law advocate for seven years. John has been working for Regard since May 2003. Joining as a support worker and working his way up to becoming team leader in 2016. John is currently in the process of completing his QCF level 5.

Currently Withersfield lodge has 8 members of staff with varying qualifications. All staff have either completed or are heading towards QCF Level 2 and 2 in Social Care. The team have been praised by their locality manager as being the most positive and happy staff within the region.’
