Charlie-manor-barn

Since last summer Charlie has spent time in transition to our Manor Barn supported living service. Charlie, who is 18 and has physical and medical needs, is moving from St Vincent’s School for the blind in Liverpool.

He spends Monday to Friday at the school and weekends and school holidays at Manor Barn.

Living in North Cheshire, will mean Charlie, will be close to his parents who live in Flintshire. In preparation for Charlie’s arrival at Manor Barn, staff received special training and a robust risk assessment was carried out around the communal areas for his safety.

Ahead of moving in, Charlie spent some time at the property, quickly striking up a relationship with two other young men of a similar age. His on-going friendship with them has helped to enhance the quality of his social life and increase his confidence. Charlie will continue to spend his weekends and school holidays ‘at home’ at Manor Barn.
