Cerrig Camu recently received a delivery of a new chicken coop. All the service users were really excited and as a group project helped with the construction of the coop with the support of staff. The wood was treated and then applied varnish to provide extra protection. Once completed the service users did a survey of the grounds and identified a new location for the chickens to live. The project was enjoyed by all and helped to promote their skills in woodwork, problem solving and animal welfare.
Service user, Jenny, who looks after the chickens on a daily basis was extremely happy with their new home and had this to say, “My lovely chickens can now roam free in the field and peck away at all the wiggly worms.”
