Rebecca, who lives at Springfield House, our residential service in Birchington for people with learning disabilities, has been supporting us at our London and South East regional office every week.
She helps out with a variety of activities including vacuuming, polishing, shredding, photocopying and much more. Tracey Cleary, Regional Coordinator said “she has come on leaps and bounds in the six months she has been coming, she recently made tea for everyone in the office all by herself without prompting for help from anyone. This was a massive achievement for her!”
During the festive period Rebecca even helped us to get into the spirit by purchasing Christmas decorations, and decorating the office, which she absolutely loved. Rebecca and the rest of the team also took a trip to Cremes for ice cream and waffles as a mini office Christmas party.
Tracey also said that “Rebecca is an absolute joy to have in the office” and that she is so glad she has been given the chance to grow in confidence.
Julia, Rebecca’s mother added “I am so thrilled that Rebecca has this opportunity at Regard. She loves admin work and I am glad she is enjoying it and being helpful. She loves creating lists, and anything that involves writing or sorting.”
Rebecca said that her favourite job is shredding, making tea for other staff, and that she enjoys having biscuits at tea break.
