The service is able to support individuals from the age of 17 as part of a transitional model of support we promote at Regard. In each case we would work closely with all parties to ensure an agreed approach is put in place to help an individual make that transition in to adulthood a positive one.

Roman House is a supported living service for adults with learning disabilities.

Details of vacancy: There is currently 1 vacant flat on the first floor.

Current profile of service: Roman House is situated in a pleasant quiet village near to Holbeach in Lincolnshire. It has two self-contained flats as well as 4 individual flats in the main house. The flats have a lounge/kitchen and bedroom with a separate bathroom.

Focus of service: Roman House’s philosophy is one of person centred support which gives choice and independence which enables service users to develop and maintain skills to give them opportunities and freedom to be as independent as possible.

Hours provided: High levels of 24 hour support from experienced staff. Service users are individually assessed on a 1:1 basis for their support needs.

Meet the team

Roman House has been completely refurbished to provide 6 self-contained flats within a large building which has allowed for additional communal areas as well. All the flats have been finished to a high standard and the focus of the service is to encourage and develop individual skills.

It is a supported living service situated in a pleasant village on the outskirts of Holbeach in Lincolnshire. Holbeach has a range of facilities including shops, a post office, village hall, public houses, church and library. There is a regular bus service into King’s Lynn, Spalding and Peterborough where the young people can access colleges and employment services, leisure centres, swimming pool, cinema, theatres and extensive shopping facilities. Holbeach is also near several seaside resorts. All the individuals we support will be involved within the local neighbourhood and community.

Roman House has a philosophy of person centred support, giving choice, independence and encouragement, enabling the service users to develop and maintain skills to give them the freedom to be as independent as possible, to reach their potential and realise their dreams. We will support new opportunities for achievement with informed choices and managed risks so that there is a continuous path of progress within the community.

Jake Maycroft leads the team at Roman House. Jake has over 6 years of experience working within health and social care, and has been with regard for over 2 years. Jake has experience working with learning disabilities, challenging behaviour, global development delay, autism and adults with other complex needs. Jake has a Level 5 diploma in leadership for health and social care.

The team supporting Jake have a wealth of experience and knowledge within social and health care. A number of staff have completed specialist training in Mental Health, managing challenging behaviour, and support/risk management. The staff team combined have over 70 year’s experience in health and social care
