Specialism: The service supports adults with Learning Difficulties and/or Mental Health Needs, Asperger’s or Autism who would benefit from living in their own space with a bespoke care package to suit their needs, plus background support for more independent individuals.

Details of vacancies: There is one en-suite room on the first floor for a female, plus a further two bedrooms sharing facilities, ideally for gentlemen.

Age range: 17+

Current Profile of Service: Care packages are developed on an individual basis with a base level of shared support.

Hours Provided: There is 24-hour background staffing, including shared waking nights. Additional 1:1 hours are based on assessed needs.

Focus of Service: We provide individuals with appropriate support for their individual needs. We are outcome focused and encourage the development of life skills. We also work with our service users to integrate them with-in the wider community and Bosley House is ideally situated in Congleton town centre to enable individuals to access transport, shops and education facilities. We work closely with family members regarding ongoing care, emotional support and activities.

Meet the team

Bosley House is an attractive and spacious semi-detached property in the centre of Congleton and has a large enclosed garden. There is a very large, modern kitchen and diner with a separate attractive lounge for communal use. Available rooms include two en-suite bedrooms a futher three rooms sharing facilities.

Outside there are large grounds, including a seating area and a patio.

Bosley House is in Congleton town centre. There are shops and NHS services all within walking distance, plus good public transport link within the Cheshire East local area.

We offer full needs and risk assessments completed by trained and experienced staff in liaison with the individual and anyone else they wish to be involved such as family, friend, or advocate. We provide person-centred support plans which include details of how we assist individuals to maintain their independence.

Support to tenants with a range of activities including: Budget planning and finances, meal planning, shopping and household tasks, establishing community links and promoting self-advocacy and support in accessing health services.

Laura Barker, who leads the team has a BA Honours degree in Health and Applied Social Studies. Laura has worked within the social care sector for 11 years although this is her first post as a manager.

Throughout her career Laura has worked with people who require different levels of support to meet their needs enabling Laura to gain a wide range of skills in many areas, this includes becoming a Proact Skipr instructor which has given Laura the knowledge to train all employees in this approach.

The team: All of the team have service specific specialist training above all of the mandatory training in order to add a level of expertise and experience to the staff and service. A number of the team have worked within the health and social care sector for many years and have a wide range of knowledge within areas such as autism and managing behaviours that challenge.

All staff are able to take on a proactive role each day and apply all of their knowledge as a team within the service, ensuring all the people we support are treated as individuals and given a chance to develop new skills.
