Two Wells is specifically dedicated to providing support to adults who are vulnerable and have a learning disability. The individuals that use our service require 24 hour support in a safe environment which promotes decision making and choice through a person centred approach, which is individualised and dependent on the specific needs and communication requirements of each person.

At Two Wells the team deliver a service which responds to the changing needs of the person, as well as enabling the person to maintain stability in their life. The service is outcome focused and achieves this by listening and responding to what the individuals tells us is important for them to achieve, making sure we work with people to achieve their goals and aspirations in a way that keeps the person safe, but also maintains and develops a life which makes sense to the person.

The staff team at Two Wells have experience of working with adults who have complex needs and high levels of vulnerability, supporting and enabling them to become more independent in their everyday life and promoting them to make decisions about their life. At Two Wells we work with people who have: Learning Disabilities, Mental Health Issues, Challenging Behaviour, Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

Success Stories

Two Wells is a detached house in the beautiful village of Cranborne in Dorset. It provides access to a variety of community facilities within the village of Cranborne which is best described as semi- rural. Transport is provided for service users due to the rural location.

The accommodation is for 4 people and is arranged over 2 floors. The ground floor has communal areas of kitchen, utility room, dining room, lounge and conservatory plus a single toilet and staff sleepover/office. There is also one ground floor bedroom with en-suite. On the first floor there are 3 further bedrooms, and another bathroom. Outside there is a small front garden and a good size rear garden with lawn, flowers and shrubs.

Person centred planning, review and awareness providing the confidence and encouragement to make decisions with the promotion of access to local advocacy and self-advocacy. We encourage daily living skills, including meal preparation, cooking and domestic skills; budgeting skills and weekly planning.Individuals are involved in the recruitment and selection of the staff that support them and in our quality checkers project. In addition we have a medication self-assessment programme – from understanding why a person takes medication right through to training and assessment to self-medication. Individuals will also participate in weekly health and safety, fire and first aid checks, as well as nightly security checks and keeping safe awareness

There is a strong support staff team who hold over 30 years of experience within the care sector between them. The support staff team are willing, energetic, enthusiastic, encouraging and caring towards the service users we support. They have a range of experience and qualities that individually they bring to the staff team. The support staff are all trained at NVQ 2 level or higher in Health and Social care.

Brewing up coffee lands Clare, from Two Wells, an award of appreciation

Clare, who lives at Two Wells, our residential service in Cranborne, has been brewing up coffee for the locals of Wimborne for the last 6 years at her local Costa Coffee.

Belinda, from Two Wells, enjoys the responsibility of having a job

Belinda, who lives at our Two Wells residential service, suffers with anxiety and has a learning disability. Due to her anxiety, she finds change difficult and it can take her a while to adapt to new surroundings and new people.

Working Together at Two Wells and Northfields

The teams at Two Wells and Northfields have always worked in partnership, providing opportunities for the people living at the two houses to get together.

Two Wells team go the extra mile to help a service user deal with her loss

Clare’s action-packed week at OWL Town Farm Workshop, Two Wells and Costa Coffee!

There is simply no stopping Clare Stubley. If she’s not waiting tables at Costa Coffee, you might spot her tilling the soil at a local market garden, or else weaving a bespoke scarf to sell online. Weekends are no less action-packed. There are places to go; friends to meet, her next foreign jaunt to plan.
