The service is able to support men from the age of 17 as part of a transitional model of support we promote at Regard. In each case we would work closely with all parties to ensure an agreed approach is put in place to help an individual make that transition in to adulthood a positive one.

Specialism: The service supports adult males with Learning Difficulties and/or Mental Health Needs, Asperger’s or Autism who would benefit from living in their own space with a bespoke care package to suit their needs, plus background support for more independent individuals. We are experienced in managing complex and challenging behaviours and provide a strong staff team for consistency and development of quality relationships.

Current Profile of Service: Care packages are developed on an individual basis with a base level of shared support in the day for those in the en-suite bedrooms.

Hours Provided: There is 24-hour background staffing, including shared waking nights. Additional hours are based on assessed needs.

Focus of Service: We provide individuals with appropriate support for their individual needs. We are outcome focused and encourage the development of life skills. We also work with our service users to integrate them with-in the wider community and liaise with family members regarding ongoing care and activities. Service users at Tarvin are all young people.

Meet the team

Tarvin is a newly developed property with 3 good-sized bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a self-contained first floor flat, a ground floor flat and a further ground floor bedroom. There are a number of large communal areas and a spacious kitchen. Outside there are large grounds, including a seating area and a patio.

It is an all male supported living service in the village of Littleton a couple of miles outside Chester City Centre. providing great access to all surrounding towns including Chester, Wirral, and Liverpool and good public transport links.

We offer full needs and risk assessments completed by trained and experienced staff in liaison with the individual and anyone else they wish to be involved such as family, friend, or advocate. We provide person-centred support plans which include details of how we assist individuals to maintain their independence.

Support to tenants with a range of activities including: Budget planning and finances, meal planning, shopping and household tasks, establishing community links and promoting self-advocacy and support in accessing health services.

Angie Swale, the service manager has an NVQ Level 4 Management qualification and is working towards a level 5 Diploma.

Angela has over 15 years’ experience within the care sector, working with individuals with varying needs. She is able to lead and develop an excellent team and service.

The team at Tarvin Road have over 30 years’ experience in health and social care between them. Along with Angie, they have completed specialist training in such areas as Autism, Managing Challenging Behaviours, Acquired Brain Injury, Mental Health and are able to apply this knowledge to the service.

Hannah ‘hits the jackpot’ at Tarvin

With schools, businesses and charities nationwide holding events to mark ‘Time to Talk Day’ (9 February), the annual awareness day to get people talking about mental health, Hannah who lives at our Tarvin Road service is helping promote that understanding by sharing her own story.
