The people we support at Oaklands recently enjoyed a Healthy Eating workshop, and ever since, have been putting what they have learned into practise.

They learned about the ‘Eatwell Plate’ – which explains the difference between varying amounts of carbohydrates and fats, ensuring they have a balanced diet.

Derek, one of the people we support said “It was a really good workshop, I learned all about healthy eating and how much a balanced portion is”.

Phil, who also lives at Oaklands, said “It was a lovely session. I learned about portion control and how much I can eat each day. The lady told us that taste buds change every 14 days, so I might try some foods that I don’t like to see if they have changed!”

The feedback from the session was that everyone thoroughly enjoyed it, and they have all asked for another workshop next month!
