Justin, who lives at Oaklands, our supported living service in Wisbech has recently been getting involved in baking.

Justin has always been interested in baking but has developed his skills in cooking recently. He has gone from simple fairy cakes to indulgent delights as pictured.

Justin said: “My passion is baking, I love it!”

Justin always caters for house functions whether it be a service party or an in-house movie night, he is happy to provide the treats.

Inspired by ‘The Great British Bake Off’, over the past few weeks, Justin has made cakes, brownies, biscuits, cheesecakes and more for the people in his service.

Amber Heighton, the senior at Oaklands said that “his baking is so good it always gets eaten straight away”.

Everyone is excited for Justin’s culinary skills to grow and they are all happy to sample the products while he practises.

Justin needs guidance on measurements when cooking or more hands on support if it’s a new recipe. All staff support him with this and often he teaches the team new recipes.

Justin is inspiring Oaklands and other Regard services to consider a ‘Great British Bake Off’ style completion so that everyone can show off their skills.
