This month, Lucile, who is supported by our Jubilee House service is celebrating both her move into her new home and also her birthday.

Jubilee House is Lucile’s first supported living placement, as she previously attended a residential college, and before this lived with her parents until she was ready to take the next step.

Lucile settled into Jubilee House immediately, and since moving in, she has continued her wide variety of different daily activities. Service manager, Louisa Terry has compiled a visual folder of all of the places she goes within the local area so that she can enjoy the day to the fullest, knowing and understanding all arrangements.

Lucile loves keeping herself busy - she enjoys several activities including attending a local college, sports, horse riding, visiting local attraction Kew Gardens when she can, and even cookery classes. The Jubilee team are delighted to see her embracing her independence.

Lucile’s family visit her every Sunday and always go out somewhere for the day with her, which she loves.

As Lucile is so happy in her new home at Jubilee, she has been looking forward to celebrating her birthday in the service with staff and people she lives with. This week, Lucile turned 23 and had a fantastic day celebrating - she enjoyed her lovely birthday cake, and loved having everyone sing to her.

Lucile recently went out with her family on a Sunday and her mother said “On Sunday morning she told us she was going back to ‘her’ Jubilee House, and as we got nearer to the end of the day she reminded us all that she was going back to ‘my Jubilee house’”. Lucile’s mother noticed how comfortable her daughter felt in the home and with the care staff.

In such a short space of time it’s very impressive that Lucile is so comfortable - she couldn’t stop talking about the service, and was also showing off her hairstyle which had been done by one of her support staff.

Everyone is thrilled that Lucile is doing so well, making this week a double celebration of both her birthday and her moving into such a wonderful place to live.

Lucile’s family are looking forward to many more Sunday meetings and hearing all about the activities she’s been getting up to and how happy she is in her new home.
