Last week, Lynray our residential service in Braintree, opened their doors as part of National Care Home Open Day.

Across Regard, 20 of our services will be opening their doors and hosting a variety of events from April to July, as part of Care Home Open Day, with a running theme of ‘Linking Communities’.

The sun was shining brightly over Braintree on the day, which put everyone in a great mood.

Staff and people supported by the service all got involved in the event in a variety of ways.

Stephanie Luckett, Service Manager arranged the event for everyone, and there was also a great selection of food, which was put together by Julie Dawson, Service Coordinator.

There was colourful bunting and eye-catching decorations around the garden, which were put up by Rory and Dan who live at Lynray, with help from Julie.

Someone who is supported by the service said “What I liked the most, was that the weather was so nice and I bought my ball to play in the garden. I liked the flavoured water that was there. I would like to go to one again.”

Stephanie said “It was nice to be part of the larger national event of Care Home Open Day - this was a first for us at Lynray”. The service are all looking forward to more events throughout the coming year.
