This October a presentation evening was held for seven Learners from OWL Town Farm Workshop (TFW) who achieved Entry Level 3 QCF’s in Gaining Skills for Employment.

In 2014 TFW became a registered centre for delivering NOCN qualifications. During 2015 tutors enabled the first seven candidates to complete courses in horticulture and crafting.

To mark this fantastic achievement TFW organised a special evening to present the learners with their certificates. Everyone from Town Farm Workshops along with their family and friends were invited to join in the celebrations.

Over 70 people attended the event, including team leader, Helen, who said ‘the tithe barn looked really special with candlelight, balloons, and banners. Guests enjoyed a photographic slideshow projected while they mingled and enjoyed the buffet provided.’

Rosie, Paul, and Clare completed courses in horticulture whilst Eddie, Shanti, Stacey, and Andrew completed courses in crafting. All were presented with their certificates and gifts by Helen. Special thanks were offered to the tutors and verifiers who include Sally, Clare, Angela, Pauline, Stuart, and Pat. After which a raffle was drawn with plenty of prizes up for grabs including a Babycham, “smellies”, leather craft, ceramics, and weaving.

The evening ended with the cutting and eating of plenty of cake provided by Fay.

Helen added ‘it was a real treat to see so many family members at the event and everyone in their “fancy” clothes’.
