Park House, one of our supported living care services in Weymouth, took part in Regard’s company-wide ‘Big Picnic Fortnight’ event to help raise money and awareness for our voted charity of the year YoungMinds.

The day turned out to be a huge success and the service managed to raise over £225. On the day of the event they invited friends and family of the people they support to join in the fun.

They truly had something for everyone at the picnic with a BBQ, tombola, raffle, henna tattoos, face painting, an owl exhibition, cream teas, guess the sweets in a jar, a cake stall and even a local band called ‘Blazing Strings’ performed on their decking area.

Steven, who leads the team at the service, said: “Although all the staff helped to create a wonderful event I must say a huge thank you to Nadine Read, who is a part time support worker at Park house. Nadine went above and beyond to make it a fantastic event. She put in so many hours of her own time out of work to organise everything and without her we wouldn’t have been able to do half the things at the picnic to raise the money.

“It was great to see family and friends all come together to raise money and have such a good time.”

Similar events across many of Regard’s services have already raised over £3000 this summer.
