People we support that live out our Cerrig Camu residential service and the people who attend our OWL day project recently enjoyed celebrating Bonfire Night together.

The people we support, designed and created their own Guy Fawkes for a local bonfire event, they gathered together old unwanted clothing to dress him in. The Guy was then filled with straw from the animals at the service.

Arts and craft sessions at the OWL service were spent creating a papier Mache head for the Guy, which looked very life like.

Suzanne who attends the OWL service said “I really enjoyed making the Guy it looked really pretty”

Lastly, posters were designed to go on the Guy to promote The Regard Group within the local community.

Everyone involved decided on the name Debbie for their creation. She was taken to Barmouth and proudly sat at the top of the bonfire for everyone to see.

Everyone enjoyed the firework display and waved goodbye to Debbie as the bonfire was lit. The planning and creation of Debbie demonstrated great teamwork and skill from everyone involved.

Emma who also attends the day centre said “The Guy looked great, I had a lot of fun with friends making it!”

Activity co-ordinator, Darren said “It was great to see people of all different abilities joining together to create the Guy Fawkes. It was also good to see everyone interacting together, promoting teamwork and social skills”.
